At the first day of World Workplace Europe 2017, Professor Alexi Marmot from University College London  & AMA Alexi Marmot Associates Ltd and Chris Hood from Advanced Workplace Associates (AWA) presented their insights on the top global workplace trends 2017.

The two experts shared that the industry, among others, is experiencing an incredible rise of coworking spaces, self-employment, active buildings and focus on biophilic design.

2. The state of technology and data as the disruptive force in Facility Management

During the second day of World Workplace Europe 2017 we talked to the ISS Sweden CEO, Gary Kidd, about the influence of technology on Facility Management.

ISS' Gary Kidd explained that he experiences enormous variation in digital readiness across the industry and touched upon the impact of technology on the role of a Facility Manager in the workplace.

3. Uncovering the state of Facility Management in Europe

The World Workplace Europe opening keynote address by the Director of the Copenhagen Institute for Future Studies (CIFS), Jeffrey Saunders, concerned the Future of Europe and the European Workplace.

We got a few moments with Jeffrey Saunders after his keynote to ask him how we would characterize the state of Facility Management in Europe and how Facility Management teams can strengthen their practices.

During the third and last day of World Workplace Europe we had a few moments with the IFMA Director of Academic Affairs, Steven Lockwood to discuss what makes an exceptional Facility Manager.

Steven Lockwood shared among others the key skills and competencies it will require to be successful in the Facility Management role in the future and how the role of a Facility Manager is expanding beyond the office walls.
